Xilinx XPS USB Host Controller for Embedded Linux
USB connectivity for FPGA devices running Embedded Linux enables you to extend your Programmable System with additional peripherals based on off-the-shelf components.
Therefore, Missing Link Electronics has integrated a USB 2.0 host controller into the MLE "Soft" Hardware Platform. Fully supported by Open Source GNU/Linux this USB 2.0 host controller comes with hotplug capabilities and extends I/O connectivity to:
- USB thumbdrives
- Bluetooth
- WiFi 802.11abgn
- GSM/UMTS
- and more ...
The MLE USB host controller is available for Xilinx FPGA devices. It is based on the Xilinx XPS USB Host Controller IP core. Please find more detailed information about this USB 2.0 Host Controller in the original datasheet.
While support for the XPS USB Host Controller has been discontinued by Xilinx, via the Xilinx Alliance Program Missing Link Electronics does offer design services and support for this IP core. Please contact our applications team for more information.
