Turnkey Solutions

As turnkey solutions, Missing Link Electronics provides Application Specific Standard Systems that fit your requirements and your budget. Manufacturing and assembly is done by approved partners of Missing Link Electronics. Building on top of the pre-validated "Soft" Hardware platform helps reduce the time-to-market and effort when building custom test and measurement systems, for example.

Compact, Configurable, Cost-Efficient

MLE can provide to you configurable, compact, and cost-efficient Single-Board Computer systems where the applications processor / microcontroller (MCU) is optimized towards the Open Source software that runs on it and the particular application the system serves - without any inflexible and costly embedded PC motherboards.

Most functionality is integrated into one single configurable System-on-Chip which results in lower power consumption, smaller form-factors and high reliability. Built from our pre-validated "Soft" Hardware Platform MLE can design applications specific systems with short time-to-market and low configuration fees.

All systems come with a full GNU/Linux software stack pre-installed and tested and support industrial PC connectivity (e.g. USB, SATA, Bluetooth, DVI, Audio, SPI, IIC), full TCP/IP networking over Ethernet, WiFi, UMTS/GSM, plus high-speed / low-speed CAN, LIN, configurable ADC and DAC, LVDS, GPIO, and more.

MLE can deliver to you turnkey solutions in single units or in low quantities, manufactured by partners of choice.

Application Specific Standard System - Example

I/O Connectivity is king in many Application Specific Standard Systems. I/O Connectivity is much more than just having the proper plug. It rather is a seamless integration of connectors on a printed circuit board plus the appropriate peripherals in an Applications Processor / microcontroller (MCU) - complemented by fast signal processing in a parallel coprocessing fabric - plus support by maintainable device drivers in a reliable operating system running the very specific application software to process the data read or written.

The Missing Link Electronics platform technology has the most often used I/O connectivity from consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace and industrial electronics readily integrated. Therefore it offers very efficient and low-risk starting points for implementing custom signal acquisition and application specific test and measurement appliances:

  • Acquisition of analog or digital channels is available using high-speed general purpose I/O channels.
  • Fast signal analysis and processing can be done utilizing the powerful, parallel FPGA fabric.
  • Measurements can be stored in various formats to local or to network-attached storage.
  • Operation is possible in stand-alone mode or in networked cooperation with PCs.
  • The systems can be accessed and controlled remotely, for example using web-based user interfaces.

Depending on the application an appliance can be light-weight and compact with automotive compliant 12V DC power supply for field-testing, for example. Or, it can be integrated in a standard 19" enclosure with a custom front-plate to provide all relevant I/O headers needed for the job - a key requirement for desktop Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing equipment.
