At Germany's IAA car show Tieto demos open automotive multimedia concept for Streetscooter electric cars built from MLE's Android-based In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) platform which combines multitouch display technology and Texas Instruments OMAP4 multi-core processor.


MLE Presents at D&E Entwicklerforum

At the DESIGN&ELEKTRONIK Entwicklerforum 2011 in Ludwigsburg MLE presents techniques for integrating Analog-to-Digital and Digital-to-Analog converters into FPGAs, the result of joint work with the Institute of Microelectronics at the University of Ulm, Germany.


Altera DE4-230 Board Support

MLE extends its "Soft" Hardware Platform to the Terasic DE4-230 Development and Education Board. Featuring a large Altera Stratix IV GX FPGA device complex Configurable Systems with high-speed serial I/O are now possible.


Xilinx MicroBlaze Support

In anticipation of the many benefits of Xilinx 7-series FPGA technology, MLE extends its "Soft" Hardware Platform to the Xilinx MicroBlaze Soft Processor Core. A release for the Xilinx ML605 development kit is available upon request.


Support for Altera NIOS-II

MLE adds Altera NIOS-II support to its "Soft" Hardware Platform. Initially starting with board support for the Altera/Hitex/Arrow BeMicroSDK 2.0 embedded Linux developers can now embrace modern low-cost embedded system platforms for building rich configurable systems.


Next-Generation In-Vehicle Infotainment

Together with partner company Tieto, a prototype for next-generation in-vehicle infotainment and telematics was shown at "Tag der Elektromobilitaet" hosted by Streetscooter GmbH, in Aachen, Germany. Combining the FPGA-based "Soft" Hardware Platform with the rich ecosystem of open source ANDROID enables cost-, weight-, and power-efficient IVI systems for electric vehicles.


MLE "Soft" Hardware Platform Release 3.2

MLE ships Release 3.2 of its "Soft" Hardware Platform. By keeping close distance to the current Linux kernel development and by adding many additional application software packages for Xilinx PowerPC, current licensees can now build on a richer development platform.


FPGA Camp 2011

MLE Founder Dr. Endric Schubert presents at FPGA Camp 2011. In a joint presentation with Glenn Steiner from Xilinx, Inc. design choices for Closed-Loop Real-Time Control-Systems were given. Utilizing modern co-design methodologies such systems can efficiently be built using the Xilinx ZYNQ-7000 Extensible Processing Platform, for example.


ANDROID-Based Companion Solution

MLE announces an FPGA companion solution to extend the connectivity of Texas Instrument's OMAP 4 Platform. The presented approach adds a wide variety of automotive and industrial interfaces, including FPGA-based ADC and DAC and exposes them to an ANDROID API, available from MLE.
